About Me
My background
I was born and educated in the United Kingdom, where I attended Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology. My mother is a highly accomplished fine artist who taught my the principals of art from a very early age. I believe I get most of my artistic flair from her. My father is an engineer/inventor and special effects costume/prop maker (Best known for creating the bat suite in the first 3 "Batman" movies) He taught me the art of problem solving and the ability to think outside the box, as well as all the practical skills of prop making, and thanks to him I now have the ability to create absolutely anything I set my mind to!
My experience
My artistic career began when I was only a teenager. Friends would pay me to create art on their leather jackets, and several of my teachers purchased original artworks from me. I have been a freelance artist my whole life, but after art school I moved to the United States and became an art teacher as well . Teaching was very rewarding for me but after 11 years other oportunities presented themselves that were too good to pass up. I moved to Las Vegas where I ran a company that specialized in giant displays for tradeshows, theatres and concert venues. Here, my creativity and and artistic ability thrived. I got to create everything from aquarium displays (as seen on Animal Planets TV show "TANKED") to 50ft tall volcanoes that errupted in fire and smoke.
I remained a freelance artist, and began doing scenic artistry on magic props and illusions. However, as my client list grew, it became obvious that I could not do both. So in 2021 I resigned from my position at the company to focus soley on my work and my clients.
My vision
I am blessed to have a multi disciplinary skill set that makes me somewhat unique among artists. I strive for excellence always, and welcome new chanenges. Part of what I love about my work is that no two projects are the same, so I am constantly inspired. My experience with such a broad range of mediums and techniques means I have excellent problem solving skills when it comes to the challenges of complex projects.
